Dear Mayor Pettit,
On behalf of Martintown Road Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American
Revolution, I am requesting that you proclaim the week of September 17-23, 2017 National
Constitution Week, in recognition of the 230th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution
of the United States of America. It is my understanding that your office has a sample
proclamation from the National DAR website which has been used as a guide.
I would appreciate your reading the proclamation at the September 18 th, 2017, meeting of
City Council. I will attend as Constitution Week Chairman, and representative of Martintown
Road Chapter to receive the proclamation.
We look forward to having you as our guest speaker at our September chapter meeting on
Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 4 p.m. in the Neighborhood Classroom of Fairview
Presbyterian Church.
