PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, eighty years ago, the Lions Club established a chapter in North
Augusta, South Carolina; and
WHEREAS, during those eighty years the Lions Club has thrived and grown
and occupies a significant place among the civic clubs in the North Augusta area; and
WHEREAS, the North Augusta Lions Club has been responsible for many
projects in our area including the building of Lions Memorial Field, broom and candy sales
and a wide assortment of fundraisers to help the poor, handicapped and those who need
educational assistance; and
WHEREAS, the Club has also supported numerous efforts to help the
visually impaired, has provided numerous educational scholarships and probably is most
appreciated for the Annual Christmas Parade.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Lark W. Jones, Mayor of the City of North Augusta,
South Carolina, on behalf of the citizens of the City of North Augusta do hereby extend
congratulations to:

On the occasion of its 80th Anniversary
And in appreciation for its many contributions to the community
and call upon our citizens to congratulate, honor, and celebrate with the North Augusta
Lions Club on this milestone.
