RES 2026-12 Contract with 6G Construction LLC - Willow Creek Dr streambank stabilization AdoptedRESOLUTION NO. 2026-12 AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF NORTH AUGUSTA TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH 6G CONSTRUCTION LLC TO PERFORM THE WILLOW CREEK DRIVE STREAMBANK STABILIZATION WHEREAS, Resolution 2024-55 authorized the City Administrator the execute an Agreement with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for a grant to perform repairs to waterways damaged by Hurricane Helene; and WHEREAS, the grant budget included $843,125.00, 100% reimbursable, for construction expenses related to debris removal and creek stabilization of various sites; and WHEREAS, previous expenditures totaling $60,603, as authorized by Resolution 2025-23, and an encumberance of $220,050.00, as authorized by Resolution 2026-11, results in a grant balance of $562,472.00; and WHEREAS, the grant scope includes bank erosion stabilization of a portion of Pole Branch along Willow Creek Dive; and WHEREAS, on January 13, 2026, the Engineering & Public Works Department published an Invitation to Bid for “Willow Wick Streambank Stabilization” on the City of North Augusta’s bids and requests for proposals website page and in SCBO; and WHEREAS, On February 5, 2026, sealed bids were received, publicly opened, and read aloud for the project; and WHEREAS, the low bid by 6G Construction LLC of Jackson, SC is in the amount of $262,138.15; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of North Augusta find that the awarding of such bid for the project is in the best interest of the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of North Augusta, South Carolina, in meeting duly assembled and by the authority thereof that 6G Construction LLC shall be awarded a contract for the Willow Creek Drive Streambank Stabilization, CONTINGENT ON GRANT EXTENSION BY NRCS, at a total cost not to exceed $315,000, which includes a contingency amount. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding for payments pursuant to this contract will be from the General Fund – Disaster Relief Efforts. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that reimbursement received from NRCS shall be deposited into the General Fund. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE City Administrator is authorized to execute any documents required for the entering into of this contract.
