RES 2026-16 Parks & Rec Contract Machines Equipment Change AdoptedRESOLUTION NO. 2026-16
AUTHORIZING A CHANGE OF MACHINES/EQUIPMENT PURCHASE FOR
THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Laws of South Carolina, and the Ordinance of the City
of North Augusta, the City Administrator prepared and submitted to the City Council a Balanced
Budget for the budget year beginning on January 1, 2026, and ending on December 31, 2026,
which was adopted on November 3, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that a change in equipment purchase for the
Department of Parks & Recreation is beneficial in the maintenance efficiency of the department;
and
WHEREAS, the City in accordance with its procurement code is authorized to conduct
purchases through cooperative purchasing agreements, to include SOURCEWELL; and
WHEREAS, this change is to be done within the authorized total appropriations for
machines and equipment expenses of the Department of Parks & Recreation as adopted by City
Council on November 3, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the proposed Parks & Recreation Department change of
equipment purchase results from the cost savings in the Recreation Division as a result of
cooperative purchasing; and
WHEREAS, Parks & Recreation team, from the cost savings in the Recreation Division,
will purchase an additional EZ-GO golf cart for Recreation and an additional John Deere Gator
for the Parks Division; and
WHEREAS, the change of equipment will not create any negative impact on the 2026
Budget.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council for the City of
North Augusta in meeting duly assembled and by the authority thereof that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby authorizes a change of equipment purchase for the
Department of Parks & Recreation as follows:
