Toole, Councilmember ORDER OF BUSINESS STUDY SESSION The Study Session of July 8, 2024 for the City Council of the City of North Augusta, having been duly publicized, was called to order by Mayor Briton S. Williams at 6:00pm and also streamed online for public viewing at the City Facebook page: “City of North Augusta – Public Information” and City YouTube page: “City of North Augusta Public Information.” Per Section 30-4-80(e) notice of the meetings was sent out by email to the current maintained “Agenda Mailout” list consisting of news media outlets and individuals or companies requesting notification. Notice of the meetings was also posted on the outside doors of the Municipal Center, the main bulletin board of the Municipal Center located on the first floor, and the City of North Augusta website. Members present were Mayor Williams, Councilmembers, Buck, McCauley, McGhee, Presnell and Toole. Member absent was Councilmember Carpenter. Also in attendance were J.D. McCauley, Assistant Administrator; Kelly F. Zier, City Attorney; Thomas C. Zeaser, Director of Engineering and Public Works; Chief Junior Johnson, Director of Public Safety; Tommy Paradise, Director of Planning & Development; Roy Kibler, Superintendent of Property Maintenance; Rick Meyer, Director of Parks & Recreation, Karl Waldhauer, Manager of Tourism; Lynda Williamson, Director of Finance; Mary Bradley, Human Resources Specialist; Jamie Paul, City Clerk; and Ricky Jones, Manager of Information Technology. ADJOURNMENT ATTACHMENT #1 Page 2 of 2 FINANCE: • Cycle 2 Due Date – July 19 • No Disconnects in the month of July while software conversion rolls out PUBLIC SERVICES: • South Carolina Department of Environmental Service Grant PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT: • Planning Commission next Wednesday, July 17 • ARTS TCC & SC ARTS TCC meeting this week • 760 and 770 West Martintown Road have been remediated (Kirby Ashe) • 1819 Marion Avenue has been remediated • 1306 Concord Avenue to be remediated tomorrow including removing 2 junk vehicles • 1831 Roan Avenue is pending as he has been cleaning the parcel (Kirby Ashe) PUBLIC SAFETY: • Our first wrecker has asked to be taken off the rotation due to them no longer having a yard within 5 miles of the City in South Carolina. The list has been adjusted and wreckers were advised. They were also advised to have their request letters in by October 1 to remain on the rotation for 2025. PARKS AND RECREATION: • Center Program Coordinators Tyler Roush and Terrance Chiles passed the National Alliance of Youth Sports Certification. • Nike Peach Jam • Greeneway trash cans and bollards have a fresh coat of paint on them. Staff will be installing new water fountains this week. Customers that mail in payments or use the drop box. •No change. •Customers will still be able to pay using both these methods. Customers paying using their bank’s online bill pay. •No change. •Account numbers will remain the same the payments will be applied to the customers’ accounts as they are now. •More will be sent electronically over paper checks. Customers with ACH payments that are debited by the City. •No change. •Customers ACH payment information will be transferred and automated until they are ready to change it.
