AUTHORIZING PROCEEDS FROM THE 2021 NORTH AUGUSTA VS.
MIDLAND VALLEY BASEBALL GAME AT SRP PARK TO BE
USED TO PURCHASE NEW BATTING CAGE NETS AT RIVERVIEW PARK
WHEREAS, on April 12, 2021, the City of North Augusta used one of its five
dates at SRP Park to host the North Augusta High School vs. Midland Valley High School
baseball game; and
WHEREAS, the City of North Augusta designated the game as Jimmy Cofer
night at SRP Park to honor him for over 55 years of service as an umpire and official for the
City; and
WHEREAS, the City of North Augusta received a check from GreenJackets
Baseball for net proceeds from the game totaling $6,513.24 with funds deposited to the
Capital Projects Fund; and
WHEREAS, the batting cages at Riverview Park that are utilized by North
Augusta High School for baseball and softball as well as the City's recreational programs are
in need of new nets to continue appropriate safety measures at the park; and
WHEREAS, the City of North Augusta and North Augusta High School are in
agreement to use the net proceeds of$6,513.24 for the purchase of new batting cage nets at
Riverview Park and these funds will come from the Capital Projects Account.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council for
the City of North Augusta in meeting duly assembled and by the authority thereof that the City
of North Augusta will purchase new batting cage nets at a price not to exceed $6,513.24 for
batting cages at Riverview Park.
